Too much time (1' and 10") to close windows.
Different behaviour (regarding time) between "Shut down" and "Restart".Using "Shut down" the time needed to close last phase of this process (chiusura di windows in corso) takes more then 1 minute. It seems that only fans and monitor is "on" in the while the phase of this process is completed.Using "Restart" the time needed to close close last phase of this process (chiusura di windows in corso) takes a few seconds (about 6 seconds).I used XP_Home_SP3.At the beginning no difference in time between "Shut down" and Restart (just few seconds to complete this phase).Programm loaded on PC are Office_2003 except "Seagate Tool Wizard" that has been installed and already disinstalled. Thanks

Thanks, but I don't fase, fallow, in this contest:!On Windows 2000 you can benefit from this service if the application event log shows event id 1000 where the message text indicates that the profile is not unloading and that the error is "Access is denied". On Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 either event ids 1517 and 1524 indicate the same profile unload problem."I tried to kill manually, task manager, the process different form std ones needed by windows to run like carpserv.exe, but nothing change. I've seen on task manager runddl.32.exe running (should be releatd to power mngmt) but I leave it working nevertheless on another my computer is not running.I know that 1 minutes and 10 seconds could be accettablebut the other computer close last phase (chiusura dio windows in corso) in 10": WHY TO WAIT MORE?. Thanks for other help.Enrico
